At a Glance: Sacramento Big Wake Weekend

Another great question has come into Unlimited Hydroplane Racing.  Our friend Walt is planning to attend Big Wake Weekend in Sacramento May 31 – June 2.  He’s not familiar with the general area, so his question is about geography, travel and overall logistics.  What a great opportunity to dig deeper!

Another Damn Smart Fan!

It’s important to get every bit of enjoyment out of a race weekend.  There is wisdom in knowing when to ask for help if something might be a bit new.  Just like the source of the previous post, we have another Damn Smart Fan in Walt.

Each race site of course has a web site and they usually contain an enormous amount of information.  Regular readers of UHR know that I like to share resources and links to help fans get the information they need.  I’ll continue to do that, but feel it might be helpful to also provide a “quick reference” guide.

Introducing “At A Glance”

Depending on the feedback received, I’ll consider doing an At A Glance for each race site.  But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, shall we?  Let’s dig into Sacramento and see how that goes.

More “At A Glance?”

This was a very quick attempt at an “At a Glance” resource based on Walt’s question. (Thanks again, Walt!)  So here’s some questions for you (and Walt, too.)  Is this of value?  Do you want more information?  Could you use one of these for each race site?  If so, what kind of information would be helpful to you?  How deep should I go?  Want to know where to park an RV?  Want to know where to get a great hamburger?

You get the idea.

Share what’s important to you and hopefully, others will do the same.  I’m happy to update this based on feedback, so let me know how I can help!

Dave

There is a cluster of hotels in Roseville, about 5 miles from the race venue, and I’ve been told shuttles will make the rounds of most if not all those hotels. Pretty sure the Big Wake Weekend web site will be giving reliable details soon.

This is helpful. I’ve been to this general location. I just need to know where to stay and where to park and catch the shuttle. Thanks Dave.
