There are many comments connected to articles across UnlimitedHydroplaneRacing.com about how nice it was in the past to watch Hydroplane Racing on TV. Admittedly, I’m one who longs for those Sunday afternoons in front of the tube.
This is not meant to replace bygone days, but it is intended to encapsulate each race into an easy-to-digest collection of recaps, links, and most importantly, video. My hope is that it is the next best thing to Sunday afternoons many years ago.
Today, we’ll look back at the 2018 Guntersville Lake Hydrofest.

In the months and weeks leading up to race weekend, there was the usual – and always exciting – coverage of what was about to unfold. There are many ways to recap the excitement, but this might be an easy way to serve up snippets with which you might connect.

Drama was building leading up to the race and was punctuated with the storm delay. Fortunately, all went pretty much as planned, with only a few adjustments.
Hydrofest Promos Set the Mood
As if the Guntersville Hydrofest news coverage leading up to the race wasn’t enough to build excitement, here’s three of my favorite promos. Even now, they get the heart thumping.
