The Madison Regatta takes place on the north side of the Ohio River, just west of the State Highway 421 bridge.  The map to the right is from the 2012 entry on the H1 Unlimited web site.  You can click on it for a larger view.

Similar to other Unlimited Hydroplane Racing venues, there are a variety of passes and special packages available.  Here’s a summarized list of what’s available:

Airports

Louisville, Kentucky

The nearest major airport is Louisville International Airport (SDF.)  This airport has international and domestic flights from Louisville, Kentucky and is 63 miles from the center of Madison.

Parking

The most difficult piece of information to get on Unlimited Hydroplane Racing race sites is parking.  If anyone has specific information about parking, shuttles, etc., please let me know in the comments below.

    Grew up in Detroit & never missed a race. In the 70’s when the piston powered monsters would come roaring by the starting line, the entire city would shake!
    I’ve been in Arizona for 10 plus years & went to Seafair in 2007, non-stop action, very worthwhile!
    And after seeing “Madison, The Movie” who could resist making the trip? Went in 2008, what a fantastic town! Stayed 3 1/2 days & just loved it! I will come back to Madison & stay at The Riverboat Inn again. Fantastic hospitality!

      Thanks, Mike. You know that’s some serious shaking when Motor City shakes! Your comment about Madison, the Movie was an inspiration. Watch for a post about that soon!
